I loved this short piece in The New York Times by Cal Newport about following a passion in life.
What he points out is:
1) Not everyone has a single passion when it comes to work (I sure didn't).
2) It's often hard to feel passionate/joyful about a career path right away, because at the beginning there's a lot of making mistakes and maybe even feeling semi-lost. The passion grows with experience, with confidence, and, for me, with community.
